MISSED APPOINTMENT GUIDELINES
24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Please email appointments@safaripediatrics.ca or leave a voice message at 403-955-1068. Indicate your child’s name, date of birth, time and date of appointment, and the reason for cancelling/rescheduling.
PATIENT APPOINTMENT INSTRUCTIONS
CLINIC VISITS
New Patients
  • Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule.
  • The East Calgary Health Centre no longer has a masking policy, however, you may be asked to mask by the pediatrician if you show up with respiratory symptoms.
  • Please complete our Intake Forms if you have not yet done so. The completed forms can be sent via email to appointments@safaripediatrics.ca or faxed to 587-387-7060. Alternatively, you may present the forms upon check-in.
  • Bring your child’s health care card.
  • Prepare to be in the clinic for at least one hour.
Follow-Up Patients
  • Arrive 10 minutes early for check-in. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule.
  • Safari Pediatrics no longer has a masking policy; however, you may be asked to mask by the pediatrician if you show up with respiratory symptoms.
  • Please complete any questionnaires or lab tests that your pediatrician has requested. If you have misplaced the questionnaire or requisition, please contact our office at 403-955-1077 ext. 0.
  • If you have a follow up appointment and won’t have enough to last until then, please have your pharmacy fax a refill request to 587-387-7060. There is no need to speak with a staff member.
After your appointment
If a follow up appointment has been requested by the pediatrician, we will contact you via email to schedule an appointment as our office is currently booking appointments a month in advance.

CIRCIMCISION APPOINTMENT
Preparing for your appointment
  • Bring the following items to your appointment:
    • Infant’s Tylenol drops
    • Polysporin ointment
    • Extra diapers and clothing
    • Formula (if not breastfeeding)
    We recommend that you feed the infant before coming to your appointment. Please arrange childcare for your other children.
  • We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your appointment for check-in. You will be given a Patient Demographic Form and circumcision consent to complete. You will also be provided with information regarding the procedure and the infant will be weighed and measured.
  • The method used in our clinic is the Mogen Technique. The circumcision itself will take 10-15 minutes. Your baby will be observed for 40-60 minutes after the procedure before you will be allowed to leave.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the circumcision please contact our nurse at 403-955-1077 ext. 3.

Phone appointment are offered at this service at the discretion of the specialist.

During your phone appointment
  • During your call, please ensure that there is minimal external noise.
  • Younger patients do not necessarily have to be present for the call. It is often helpful for older patients to be present.
  • Please have your pharmacy information (name, location and phone number) available.
  • If you miss the physician’s call, please contact the clinic reception desk at 403-955-1077 ext. 0 to reschedule.
After your phone appointment
The pediatrician will ask you to call clinic at 403-955-1077 ext 2, to book your follow up appointment.
